YouTube has not had a separate application on the Win10 system, but according to the foreign media MSPoweruser, YouTube recently launched a PWA web version application. After installation, a shortcut will appear directly on the desktop to obtain similar applications. Program-like experience.
If users want to install the YouTube PWA application, use the Chrome browser to visit the web page, and they can see the (+) button in the upper right corner of the address bar, click to install, and the application icon will appear on the desktop.
IT Home understands that the PWA application is essentially a desktop shortcut, targeting the program “chrome_proxy.exe”. After that, a piece of code was added to indicate the parameters and ID of the PWA application.
After opening the application, you can see that its layout is similar to the web version, with a foldable menu on the left, but there are no tabs at the top of the application, which is very concise. In addition, there are back and refresh buttons in the upper left corner, and the menu bar and the “extension” button can be seen in the upper right corner. The Chrome browser plug-in on the local computer will be synchronized to the PWA application.
Not only that, PWA applications also support multiple openings. It can be seen from the Win10 task manager that the web version of the application process is consistent with the tabs of the normal Chrome browser, and opening multiple applications is equivalent to opening multiple Chrome browser tabs.
