According to foreign media reports, NPR (National Public Radio) quoted unnamed direct participants as reporting that TikTok will file a federal lawsuit as early as Tuesday to challenge President Trump’s executive order to ban the video sharing service in the United States.
The person familiar with the matter said that the lawsuit will be filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of California, where TikTok’s US business headquarters is located . The lawsuit held that the president’s actions were unconstitutional because it did not give the company a chance to respond.
People familiar with the matter said that the lawsuit also claimed that the national security reasons cited by the US government in this executive order were unfounded.
Currently, the White House refuses to comment on the anticipated lawsuit, but upholds the president’s executive order.
