Verizon brings last monthly update to Samsung’s Galaxy S20 series in the US

We are in April 2024 and Verizon is rolling out a March 2024 security update for the Galaxy S20 series in the US. This update is already out in Europe, Canada, and unlocked models in the US. The company will soon make it available for all models.

Samsung Galaxy S20 series are getting March 2024 security update on the Verizon network in the US with One UI build version mentioned below.

  • Galaxy S20 – G981VSQS8HXC1
  • Galaxy S20 Plus – G986USQS8HXC1
  • Galaxy S20 Ultra – G988USQS8HXC1

This fresh security patch also mends over 45 vulnerability exposures from Google and Samsung including 2 critical, 35 high levels of CVEs for the Android operating system, and 9 SVE items related to AppLock, Bootloader, some services, and more.

To check the update, you just need to navigate to the device’s Settings, then a Software update, and Download and install. If you have received the update, install it now to get enhanced features.

Make sure to connect your device to a Wi-Fi network, or make sure it has a strong Verizon wireless network connection before you download. In addition, ensure your battery is fully charged before starting the software update.

No More Monthly Updates

Samsung Galaxy S20 series has been removed from the monthly updates plan. This series will now will follow the new quarterly update schedule instead of monthly. This means these devices will receive security updates every three months instead of every month.
