Galaxy Tab Active5 tablet will receive 8 years of Android system and security updates

Dutch Samsung executives recently announced on LinkedIn that the enterprise version of the Galaxy Tab Active5 tablet can receive 8 years of Android system and security updates.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab Active 5 in January this year. The standard version currently supports 4 major Android version updates and 5 years of security updates.

It is not surprising that Samsung has extended the support time for enterprise devices. For example, Samsung announced a few years ago that for flagship phones and some mid-range phones and tablets, in addition to the standard version supporting 4 years of security updates, the enterprise version will add an additional year of support. , reaching 5 years.

This is the first time the company has committed to providing expanded operating system and security updates for Enterprise Edition devices. IT Home Note: This commitment is also limited to tablets, including the recently launched Galaxy Xcover 7. The enterprise version of mobile phones enjoys the same seven-year policy as the Galaxy S24.

Devices launched before 2024 are also excluded, so the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Enterprise Edition is the only device currently on the eligibility list.
