Apple Music Is Now Available on PS5

PlayStation owners who enjoy listening to music while playing their favorite PlayStation 5 (PS5) games will be happy to know that Apple Music is now integrated with the console. Here’s everything you need to know.

Apple Music Is Now Available on PS5

In a first-ever for games consoles, Apple Music is now available on PS5. That means PS5 users around the world will now be able to listen to over 90 million songs on Apple Music while playing their games.

Previously, Spotify was the only music streaming service available on the PS5, meaning Apple Music subscribers were disadvantaged… but not anymore.

Apple Music Features You Can Use on PS5

To use Apple Music on your PS5, you’ll first need to have an active Apple Music subscription. Then you’ll have to link your Apple Music account to your PS5 by downloading the Apple Music app from the Media space on your PS5, and following the on-screen instructions thereafter.

You can listen to music before, during, and after your gameplay session. Besides having access to Apple Music’s vast library, you can access playlists, radio, and even 4K music videos.

And, if you don’t have any particular song or playlist in mind, Apple Music will show you music recommendations for the game you’re playing.

You can also control playback while playing games, and you can watch music videos too. Plus, you can leave the Apple Music app while watching a music video to switch to a game or another screen, and the music will continue playing in the background.

Apple Music Further Integrates Into Your Life

Until now, you could typically enjoy Apple Music on any device that forms part of the Apple ecosystem. The launch of Apple Music on PS5 means that Apple is going beyond its ecosystem to make Apple Music accessible to you in other areas of your life.

As a PS5 owner, it’ll be more convenient to play music from the Apple Music app on the console, rather than using two devices. You can create a whole new gaming experience.
