Although Galaxy Watch 3 was only released a few days ago, it has received a software update. The update brings some features that were announced at the time of release, including blood oxygen monitoring.
According to a report by SamMobile, this 80MB update brings a blood oxygen monitoring function. Samsung pointed out that blood oxygen analysis is designed to provide useful insights about human health and is not accurate enough to be classified as medical data. Samsung pointed out in the update log that this feature is not available in Algeria, Angola, Canada, France, Iran, Japan, Libya, South Africa and Thailand.
Another feature brought by this update is “Advanced Running Analysis”, which provides detailed information about running styles and improvements.
The update also supports the maximum oxygen uptake (VO2max) and sleep score. The former will provide a reading of the amount of oxygen used during exercise to improve your endurance, while the sleep score will provide a new way to understand how you sleep.
Samsung is still adding ECG support to Galaxy Watch3, and the FDA has approved Samsung to monitor this.
