Today Microsoft released the Windows 10 Insider preview Build 20279 (FE_RELEASE) for the Dev development channel. This version is basically the same as Build 20277. Microsoft released this build to test its ability to quickly follow up with another version.
Naijatechnews is informed that Windows Insiders who updated to Build 21277 last week will not be provided with this version because they are using a newer version. Microsoft is working hard to provide new versions for these Insiders as soon as possible. Microsoft hopes to restore all Insiders in the development channel to receive the build version of RS_PRERELEASE sometime after the holiday.
The new Build from the FE_RELEASE development branch still does not match the specific Windows 10 version, which means that this is not necessarily for the Win10 21H1 version .
Known issues
- Microsoft is working hard to fix the problem that caused some users to see the pop-up “Your PC has encountered a problem and will restart within 1 minute” after logging into Windows with Azure Active Directory or Active Directory accounts. If you encounter this situation, please save any data immediately and the system will automatically restart.
- Microsoft is studying reports of long hangs in the update process when trying to install a new version.
- Real-time previews of fixed websites have not been enabled for all Insiders, so when you hover over the thumbnail in the taskbar, you may see a gray window. The experience is continuing to be improved.
- Microsoft is working hard to enable a new taskbar experience for existing fixed websites. At the same time, you can unpin the website from the taskbar, remove it from the edge://apps page, and then re-pin the website.
- Microsoft is investigating an issue that after adopting this build version, no drives appear under “Settings”> “System”> “Storage”> “Manage Disks and Volumes”. As a workaround, you can manage your disk in the classic disk management tool.
