There is a reason Kaduna State is nicknamed the Center of Learning, and justifiably so. True to its name, the state is home to some of the most prestigious institutions of learning in Nigeria. In fact, the great Ahmadu Bello University, one of the very first tertiary institutions in Nigeria, is situated in Kaduna State. Sitting prominently too, is the Kaduna State University, fondly called “KASU”.
Situated in the suburban area of Ungwan Rimi, one of the poshest places in kaduna state, KASU is home to several students drawn from several religions and ethnicities from all parts of the state and beyond. The school offers courses in several disciplines of Art, Agriculture, Education, Engineering, Environmental Sciences and other Sciences, among others.
Kaduna State University has particularly taken a positive turn since the administration of Mallam Nasir El Rufai. While a lot has changed in terms of facilities and education standard, there is also a focus of implementing policies that will benefit the students of the school. There are some policies though that may be regarded as extreme, all in the name of promoting decency.
One major policy directive from the Governor that is worthy of note is the cancellation of what is known as “acceptance fee”. Students and prospective candidates of all levels obviously heaved a sigh of relief at the cheering news. This has indeed made it quite easy for admitted students. This post has been put together to provide you with all the information you need on Kaduna State University (KASU) school fees.

Other Things to Know about Kaduna State University
It is important here to give a brief overview of KASU. The university was established in 2004. It is one of the new generation universities in Nigeria, established with a mission to providing qualitative education to its immediate environment. The university has well over 37 departments spread across seven faculties. With two standard campuses; one in Kaduna and the other in Kafanchan, the school is poised to maintain the level of standard which the university is known for.
At the moment, Kaduna State University only offers Masters and PostGraduate Diploma at Postgraduate level. It is hoped that sometime in the future, it will be standardized to the level of awarding doctoral degrees. It is also important to note that these Postgraduate courses are only offered in the Faculties of Arts, Science, and Social and Management Sciences at the moment.
The Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna is the Medical training center for Medical and Pharmaceutical students. It is a standard hospital that has become a beehive for people seeking medical attention within the state and beyond.
The motto of KASU is “Knowledge for Development and Unity”. Key Management officials of the University includes the Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Tanko. The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration/Coordinator of Kafanchan Campus) is Professor Alexander Kure. The University also has a Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) as well as a Bursary, and a Librarian, among other management staff.
The Librarian oversees the university’s library which has over 17,000 volumes of books. KASU has been true to its name since inception just 14 years ago. It has fast become a hub of academic excellence within the state, drawing its vast knowledge and experience from a pool of disciplined lecturers. No wonder it is today acclaimed as one of the fastest growing state-owned university in Nigeria. You won’t even believe it is just about 14 years old.
