Foreign media 9to5 Mac reported that dropping a phone is almost everyone’s nightmare, but have you ever imagined letting your iPhone fall from an airplane? This is exactly what happened to the Brazilian documentary filmmaker Ernesto Galiotto. His iPhone fell from the sky. What’s more surprising is that the phone survived and its built-in camera recorded everything.
According to G1 reports, Galiotto was flying over the beach in Cabo Frio in Rio de Janeiro to record one of his projects. When he took the iPhone 6s in one hand and took some pictures through the small window of the plane, the wind took the phone away.
The filmmaker thought his iPhone was lost forever, but the story took an unexpected turn. Galiotto checked the “Find My” app, and unexpectedly, the iPhone 6s was still there, and it appeared to be in the middle of the beach. He went to the designated location and dropped the iPhone 6s there, almost intact .
Galiotto said at the time that if he did not fall into the water, he was confident that he could retrieve it. The altitude was 2000 feet (about 609 meters).
The iPhone 6s survived the fall from the plane with only a few scratches. The device was previously equipped with a normal silicone shell and screen protector. “This matter, if you tell others, they won’t believe it,” Galitoto said.

Naijatechnews learned that, interestingly, this is not the first iPhone that has fallen from an airplane and survived. It was reported last year that a photographer’s iPhone-also an iPhone 6s-fell off during an aerial tour of South Iceland. He recovered his iPhone 13 months after the accident.
