Badi Telecom will deploy Intel’s third-generation Xeon Scalable processors, FPGA, eASICS and Ethernet 800 series in its network, laying the foundation for the launch of large-scale 5G, mobile edge computing (MEC) and network slicing.
The two parties stated in a statement that this cooperation will enable Bharti Telecom to enter a super-interconnected world, in which Industry 4.0, cloud gaming and VR/AR will become an indispensable part of daily life .
Earlier this year, Bharti Telecom used open spectrum in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad to become the first telecom operator in India to demonstrate 5G on the live network. At the same time, Bharti Telecom also cooperated with Sweden’s Ericsson and Finland’s Nokia to conduct 5G trials in other major cities in India.
In addition, Bharti Telecom has established a partnership with Tata Sons and Tata Consultancy Services to deploy Open RAN 5G solutions, including radio access networks and core networks. Paldi Telecom plans to start pilot deployment in January 2022.
On the other hand, Reliance Jio has developed and tested its local 5G solution in India together with its Indian partners , and plans to export the solution to the global market once the solution is verified in India.
Prakash Mallya, Intel’s vice president and general manager of the sales, marketing and communications group, recently told the media that the company is helping telecom operators with network development. Regarding the partnership with Reliance Jio, he said that as part of its 5G infrastructure transaction, Intel is helping Reliance Jio migrate from 4G to 5G.
Intel’s investment arm-Intel Capital invested 18.945 billion Indian rupees in 2020 and purchased a 0.39% stake in Jio Platforms.
