HONOR officially introduces the first member of its upcoming X20 series lineup and it is powered by a MediaTek processor – Honor X20 SE with Dimensity 700 chipset.
The Honor X20 SE debuts in China, and for the time being, it is only available in the country, which means, you really don’t have to expect Google Services support.
The three cameras on the back panel have capsule-shaped looks. However, the former sub-brand of Huawei, Honor might aim to take the X20 SE globally.
On the front is a 6.6-inch Full-HD+ 1080p TFT LCD display with a hole-punch cutout for a 16-megapixels selfie camera with an f/2.0 lens.
Inside the camera mansion around the back is a vertically aligned triple lens, a primary 64-megapixels snapper with f/1.9 lens and LED support.
Other sensors include 2-megapixels portrait shots and another 2-megapixels for close-up/macro shots. Fortunately, it still holds a 3.5mm audio jack.
While the right-hand side holds the biometric sensor, fingerprint reader, which also doubles as the power button too.
The device is driven by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC paired with either 6GB / 8GB RAM with 128GB storage. Honor did not add support for MicroSD card expansion.
While the connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth v5.1 and others, the device also comes with two nano-SIMs and allows dual 5G standby.
Honor X20 SE runs on Android 11-based Magic UI 4.1 and sports a 4000mAh battery to keep the light on, with support for 22.5W fast charging via USB Type-C port.
It is available in Black, Green, Rose Gold, and Silver color options, and it is slightly slimmer at 8.4mm and weighs 179 grams.
While we are officially expecting the Honor X20 series, the company launched its first smartphone series earlier this month after its split from Huawei – Honor 50 family.
The Honor X20 SE costs CNY1,799 ($280) for the 6GB RAM and CNY1,999 ($310) for the 8GB RAM option. It is currently available for pre-order and shipping is scheduled for July 9.
