Apart from the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series, Samsung now has one more premium lineup to worry about and the brand seems to be very concerned about it. Yes! this is all about the foldable devices that pose as the future of smartphones. The Korean giant already has a bunch of devices namely the original Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Z Fold2, and Galaxy Z Flip. Well, Samsung is now working on the successor to the Z Flip dubbed Galaxy Z Flip2.
According to new development, we now know a few key highlights of the next-gen foldable smartphone.
Galaxy Z Flip2 Might Feature A 120Hz Refresh Rate And Narrower
According to the notable tipster Ice Universe, the next-gen Galaxy Z Flip2 smartphone will come with a 120Hz high refresh rate panel. This is not the first time we’re looking at a high refresh rate panel on Samsung’s foldable smartphone. The smartphone maker brought the 120Hz panel to its foldable lineup with the Galaxy Z Fold 2. This means that this is not going to be the company’s first rodeo to implement such a refresh rate to the Ultra-Thin Glass display tech.
With that said, the 120Hz panel on the device is going to be a significant upgrade in terms of display. Apart from this, the tipster has also mentioned the narrower bezels on the second iteration of the clamshell foldable device. The thinner bezels are always appreciated. It is worth noting that the tipster has mentioned the device as Galaxy Z Flip 3 for some unknown reasons. He might be considering the Galaxy Z Flip 5G as the second iteration in the lineup. With that said, that should not be the case and we should see the Flip 2 moniker.
Lastly, the foldable smartphone might arrive with a cheaper price tag than the predecessor. If that’s the case, then we might see the device performing well than the original version. Of course, there are no specific figures here considering we’re still looking at an early leak. The Galaxy Z Flip 2 should see its official unveiling somewhere in the month of March 2021.
Apart from this, Samsung is reportedly also working on an affordable foldable smartphone dubbed Galaxy Z Flip Lite. Sadly, the information on the Lite version is scarce at the moment. We should expect more information on both the upcoming foldable devices to hit our radar soon.
