Announcing the launch of the new 2024 Black Unity series Apple Watch straps.
Apple also confirmed today that iOS 17.3 and iPadOS 17.3 will be officially released to the public next week. The main new features of iOS 17.3 include Stolen Device Protection and Apple Music collaborative playlists.
When the stolen device protection function is turned on, some privacy operations on the iPhone must require Face ID or Touch ID authentication, such as viewing or using the password or key in the iCloud keychain, turning off the lost mode, delete content or settings, use iPhone to set up a new device, perform actions in Wallet, or use Safari to perform payment-related actions, and more.
And when your iPhone is performing some more sensitive operations, the iPhone will also add a security delay based on biometric identification. For example, when you want to change your Apple ID password, update the account security settings of your Apple ID, add or delete a trusted device, change the iPhone password, add or delete Face ID or Touch ID, the iPhone will have an hour to verify the identity. The security delay means that the change can be completed successfully after one hour.
The new Black Unity collection includes an Apple Watch sports band and wallpapers for iPhone and iPad. Apple said the wallpapers will be available next week and require iOS 17.3 or iPadOS 17.3 to be used.
Apple officials said: “The new Unity Bloom iPhone and iPad lock screen wallpaper will also be launched next week, suitable for iPhone Xs and subsequent models running iOS 17.3, and iPad (6th generation and subsequent models) running iPadOS 17.3 , iPad mini (5th generation and later), iPad Air (3rd generation and later), 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2nd generation and later), 10.5-inch iPad Pro and 11-inch iPad Pro (3rd generation and later) 1st generation and subsequent models).”
The exact release date of iOS 17.3 is not yet known, but the Apple Watch Black Unity Sport Band will be available on January 23, so it is expected that iOS 17.3 will be released on January 22 or January 23.
