Ams officially issued a statement yesterday: launching the industry’s first light sensing/proximity/light source flicker detection sensor module optimized for OLED screen applications of smartphones—TMD3719.
The sensor integrates three functions of ambient light sensing, proximity detection and light source flicker detection, providing a complete “under the OLED screen” (BOLED) optical sensing solution.
Officially, TMD3719 is the world’s first device that overcomes major technical challenges such as ambient light sensing, proximity sensing, and light source flicker detection under OLED screens.
The official said: TMD3719 light sensing/proximity/light source flicker detection sensor can be placed behind the OLED display, and can support OEM design of full-screen smartphones (under-screen camera models); TMD3719 integrates a complete light source flicker sensor system, Eliminates artifacts generated when the camera captures images.
- Ambient light sensing: extract real ambient light intensity information, and automatically control the display brightness according to the environment
- Proximity sensor: realize functions similar to anti-mistouch, eliminate visible display distortion
- Light source flicker detection: optimize lens imaging performance, eliminate ripples and other artifacts
According to the official statement, the TMD3719 optical sensor adopts a 6.35 mm x 3.00 mm x 1.00 mm surface mount package, and its samples are now available.
IT House learned that ams is a subsidiary of ams AG in China. ams formerly known as Austrian Microelectronics AG, is a top sensor manufacturer in the world.
