In iOS 14 Beta 8, Apple is officially open to change the default third-party App options. We have previously reported that Google Chrome has become the first third-party application that can be used as the default software for the iOS 14 system. After the official version went online, Microsoft Edge browser and Microsoft Outlook mailbox became the latest two options.
Now, users can set Outlook and Edge as the default mail application in the following ways.
Enter “System Settings”, select “Outlook” or “Edge Browser”, select “Default Mail/Browser App” and change to the corresponding program. Microsoft has recently pushed an update for the Edge browser to support all the features of iOS 14 .
At present, another email application with a huge user base, Google Mail, Gmail, has not yet been added as a default client.
It is reported that not any third-party application can be set as the default application. As mentioned earlier, Apple has some audit standards for these alternative software, for example, these applications need to meet performance benchmarks and ensure that they meet Apple’s specifications.
