This morning at 10 o’clock in the morning, Apple’s store in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore officially opened. This is Apple’s first store in the world to open on the water. Its architectural appearance also adopts a unique spherical design.
The roof of this Apple retail store adopts a fully self-supporting glass dome structure, consisting of 114 pieces of glass in total, like a crystal ball rising above the water. The YouTube channel Superadrianme TV has recorded a video to show you this stunning and unique building.
The video includes the traditional applause of Apple welcoming customers when it officially opened the store, the 45-meter-long underwater entrance tunnel from basement 2 of the Marina Bay Sands Mall, and the long escalator to the top. The video also shows the dome of the main building, including the central ring at the apex of the structure and the surrounding shutters, which not only illuminate the interior but also protect customers from the noon sun.
The retail store not only includes the usual product display area and huge video wall, but also Apple’s first underwater board room for business meetings, training and private events.
Naijatechnews learned that the Apple Marina Bay Sands store is the company’s third retail store in Singapore, and visits on the opening day can only be made by appointment.
