Tyrese Devon Haspil, an aide of 33 year-old Gokada CEO, Fahim Saleh, has been arrested in New York for his gruesome murder.
The 21 year-old Haspil, according to New York Times, has been accused as the person who carried out the gruesome dismemberment of Saleh, an American tech millionaire, doing business in Nigeria.
The newspaper said Haspil will face charges for the murder.
Detectives believe that Saleh had “discovered that the assistant had stolen tens of thousands of dollars from him,” providing a motive for murder.
The Times reported that Saleh didn’t report the alleged theft to the police but asked Haspil to repay the money.
The New York Post alleged the theft amounted to $100,000 and that Haspil allegedly “reneged” on the repayment plan.
“This was an act of charity that turned into an act of murder,” a source told The Post.
The Times also reported that investigators now believe Saleh was killed the day before the dismemberment (stunned with a Taser and then stabbed to death in the neck and torso) and the killer returned to the apartment to dispose of the body.
The killer also used a portable vacuum cleaner to try to clean the crime scene, according to the newspaper.
The grisly discovery came July 14 in Manhattan, when police found the “limbless, headless torso” of Saleh inside his luxurious condo, according to The New York Daily News.
Saleh was found decapitated and dismembered next to an electric saw in his luxury Manhattan condo on Tuesday.
According to the newspaper, a video may have captured a suit-wearing man entering an elevator with Saleh in the moments before he met with foul play.
Saleh’s arms and legs were cut off with “surgical precision,” according to the New York Post, and then placed in bags.
The New York Daily News quoted a source as describing the scene as “professional.”

New York City’s medical examiner has revealed that Fahim Saleh, the founder and CEO of Gokada died of multiple stab wounds.
The 33-year-old was found dead in his Manhattan’s Lower East Side apartment on Tuesday, July 14, with his body, rigorously dismembered.
According to the Police, his body was cut up and sorted into different plastic bags. An electric saw which was still plugged in was also found in the apartment.
Meanwhile, an autopsy by the city’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled that Saleh died as a result of stab wounds to the neck and torso.
A spokesperson told CNN that Saleh’s manner of death is ruled to be a homicide.
Authorities are still investigating Saleh’s death as he was last seen in surveillance video getting into an elevator in his apartment building and a man dressed in all black — who police believe is Saleh’s assailant — entering the elevator with him.
His family described him as a “brilliant and innovative mind” in a statement released to confirm his death.
The statement reads: “The headlines talk about a crime we still cannot fathom. Fahim is more than what you are reading. He is so much more. His brilliant and innovative mind took everyone who was a part of his world on a journey and he made sure never to leave anyone behind.
“There are no words or actions to provide any of us comfort except the capture of the person who exhibited nothing short of evil upon our loved one.”

Tyrese Devon Haspil, the executive assistant to tech CEO and Gokada investor Fahim Saleh was charged Friday in New York with the grisly murder of Saleh.
Haspil was charged with second-degree murder, the New York Police Department said.
According to New York Post, Haspil, 21, was busted at 8:45 a.m. in the lobby of 172 Crosby St. in Manhattan, Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison said during a brief news conference at 1 Police Plaza.
Haspil handled Saleh’s “finances and personal matters,” Harrison said.
“It is also believed that he owed the victim a significant amount of money,” he said.
Haspil allegedly attacked Saleh with a Taser at 1:45 p.m. Monday while Saleh was getting off an elevator that opened directly into his Manhattan apartment, Harrison said.
Cops were alerted to the slaying after a cousin found Saleh’s remains on Tuesday, Harrison said.
“Mr. Saleh’s cousin discovered his dismembered body in the middle of his apartment with his head, arms and legs amputated,” Harrison said,
Harrison said he wouldn’t “get into the cause of death” or answer any questions, and ended the briefing after just three minutes.

Fahim, was last seen on surveillance footage on Monday afternoon around 1:40 pm, when he entered his building’s elevator, which opens right out to his seventh-floor apartment.
According to several reports, police believe they have surveillance footage of the suspect entering the building and then using the elevator.
The footage is said to show the suspect in a glove and a mask covering his face sharing the elevator with Saleh up to the seventh floor.
As the door of the elevator opened directly into Saleh’s apartment, he was seen to fall to the floor immediately as he walked into his home from a possible gunshot.
According to Daily News, Police believe the murder was carried out by a professional because of how the attack happened.
“We have a torso, a head that’s been removed, arms, and legs. Everything is still on the scene. We don’t have a motive,” New York Police Department spokesman Sgt. Carlos Nieves said.
Saleh has described his history as an entrepreneur in a series of posts on Medium.com.
He got his start creating a prank calling website, then moved on to create a motorcycle taxi company in his parents’ native Bangladesh.
He is well known in Lagos, Nigeria where he helped launch Gokada, the former bike hailing company that has pivoted into delivery services following the government’s ban on passenger motorcycles.
Friends of Mr. Saleh, according to New York Times, described him as an ambitious man who ran every morning, kept a busy schedule of meetings and often traveled to Nigeria on business.
He collected tech gadgets and lived alone with a small dog, Laila, which was found alive in the apartment, they said.
Saleh was born in Saudi Arabia 33 years ago.
He moved with his family quite a bit before settling in Rochester, N.Y., and, later, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
The son of Bangladeshi immigrants, he learned to code and began to develop apps as a teenager, his friends said.
After graduating from Bentley University in Waltham, Mass., he had early success with PrankDial, an app he invented for making prank telephone calls.
Mr. Saleh’s ride-hailing motorcycle start-up, Gokada, began operating in Lagos, Nigeria, in 2018, and raised $5.3 million in venture capital in June 2019, according to the website Techcrunch.
