Xbox Series X Gaming Console Specs and price in Nigeria

Xbox Series X is Microsoft’s latest fastest, and most powerful console, designed for the next level of gaming generation that focus on player’s satisfaction.

According to Microsoft, the Xbox Series X is supposedly twice as powerful as the Xbox One. Just like the Sony PlayStation 5 and PS5 Digital Edition, it is powered by a processor and graphics based on AMD’s latest Zen 2 and RDNA 2 architectures respectively.

However, just like the processors on the PlayStation was custom designed by Sony, the ones on the XBox Series was also custom designed by Microsoft.

Design

The Xbox Series X sports a rectangular “tower” design similar to that of a desktop PC. This console is more a mini-tower PC than a traditional games console, it can be placed vertically or horizontally.

Furthermore, the console measures a dimension of 15.1 x 15.1 x 30.1 cm and weighs 4.45kg / 9.8lbs thnls  to its sleek yet bulky design.

The Xbox Series X comes with a parallel cooling structure in form of a grille positioned at the top and right hand side of the console for heat dissipation.

Similarly, positioned, at the front of the Xbox Series X is an illuminated Xbox logo and a disk slot, which gives the console a premium and captivating look.

Above all, at the back of  the Microsoft Xbox Series X is different ports for peripheral connection. These includes the 1TB card inserted directly into the back of the console via the dedicated storage expansion port.

Performance

Like most gaming console, the Xbox Series X comes with a powerful Processor and Graphics card, thus offering a futuristic gaming experience.

It is powered by AMD’s latest Zen 2 and RDNA 2 architectures. According to Microsoft, this combination will deliver “four times the processing power of an Xbox One”.

The eight-core chipset, offers up to 3.8GHz for each core, thus, offering one of  the best gaming experience.

Furthermore, the new system on a chip (SOC) is built to offer quick speed and performance, with 12 teraflops of processing power.

The 12 teraflops of GPU is aided by variable rate shading (VRS) technology, which should result in more stable frame rates and higher resolutions for games.

In addition, Xbox Series X CPU and GPU allows it to utilize ray tracing acceleration, an advanced lighting tech that takes in-game graphics to a whole new level by more realistically mimicking the way light behaves in an environment.

The technology produces real-time dynamic reflections and shadows, elevating the depth of your games.

 

Furthermore, the console is capable of 120 frames per second, complete with variable refresh rates for compatible displays, with support for up to 8K resolutions.

It also support 4K resolution with 60 frames per second as a baseline standard. The Xbox Series X will also feature hardware-accelerated ray tracing,

Similarly, this console is equipped with a 4K Blu-ray a digital optical disc data storage format that is an enhanced variant of Blu-ray which supports games with a data capacity of 100GB.

Fast Game Loads

The Xbox Series X is supported by a 16GB GDDR6 RAM, thus offering faster load speeds which means no load screens, ultra fast streaming and ultra fast boot speeds.

Similarly, an internal 1TB SSD is available for storage, which speeds up data access dramatically.

It also provide developers with more power to use, offloading asset streaming tasks typically handled by the CPU thanks to new features in DirectX, called DirectStorage.

Thanks to the Xbox Series X storage expansion card, this console comes with an expansion slot oat the back to add an optional, internal custom 1TB SSD card.

Microsoft Xbox Series X have access to many accessories which includes a Xbox Wireless Controller.

The controller comes with different functional keys including share button, Hybrid D-pad and more.

The gaming console also support Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft’s game subscription service which offers one month fee access to more than 200 games to download and play.

Similarly, the Xbox Series X comes with a Quick Resume technology which enables a game to start nigh-on immediately from a suspended state, hence, enabling players to seamlessly switch between multiple titles and resumes instantly from where you last left off.

Xbox Series X Price and Availability

Microsoft is yet to confirm the price of the Xbox Series X, but there have been some speculation that this next generation gaming console will cost around $599.

The Xbox Series X is not yet available, but according to the company the console is expected to be available in time for holiday shopping. This means you should be expecting it in the last quarter of the year starting in October.
